Technical Experts - Economic Stabilization Program, FATA, Peshawar, Pakistan

 

 

IRD is seeking technical experts for the upcoming Economic Stabilization Program in FATA. The exciting program will improve economic security through the provision of technical assistance for rural development including infrastructure support to small scale farmers, sustainable agricultural development via value-chain enhancements, women's participation, and investments in the strengthening of associations and small and medium enterprises. Technical experts will be used to support the design and implementation of program activities in their relevant field.
Areas of expertise:

• Building the capacity of small and medium enterprises
• Developing value chains and sector linkages
• Micro/rural finance
• Vocational education
• Community development
• Improving production, handling, and processing of staple food crops, livestock, dairy, and horticultural commodities
• Trade facilitation
• Infrastructure
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Public communications and outreach
• Gender, youth, and social inclusion
• Grants, subcontracts, and compliance

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of eight years of relevant technical experience, particularly in one or more of the technical areas above (FATA experience highly preferred);
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable for quality outputs and results as well as communication with external stakeholders such as governments, donors, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and strong track record in meeting deliverables and deadlines.
• Demonstrated team building and management skills.
• Proficiency in English required.

Education

• Master's degree or higher in agricultural production, agricultural science, water resources management, international development, business management, public health, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
